Apple announced today, that new movie releases will be available for purchase on the same day as the DVD release on iTunes. New release prices will be $14.99 and catalog titles, $9.99. Of course movies purchased through iTunes can be viewed on iPhone, iPods (with video capability), Macs, PC’s or Apple TV. This sounds pretty good and could be convenient for many.

AT&T Providing Free Wi-Fi Access To iPhone Users
MacRumors has confirmed that AT&T is providing free wi-fi to iPhone users at Starbucks and Barnes & Noble. Apparently, there’s a customized portal, accessible by an iPhone formatted page, where you enter your phone number and voila! Sounds good to me. I’ll have to go to one of the many Starbucks in the area where I work (midtown Manhattan), to give it a try.
UPDATE: According to sources, including MacRumors, it looks like AT&T has disabled this service. Perhaps it was a fluke or the company was just testing the wind. I’ll keep you posted and let you know if or when the service resumes.

Three More Actors Leaving Prime-time Crime Dramas
Law & Order: SVU will be losing two of its actors - Adam Beach and Diane Neal, while CSI:Miami will be be losing Khandi Alexander at the end of the season. These are in addition to the departures of Gary Dourdan (CSI) and Jesse L. Martin (L&O). Khandi Alexander has been with CSI:Miami from the beginning. In my opinion her shoes will be hard to fill.
And just a reminder, Jesse L. Martin’s final Law & Order episode will air Wednesday, April 23rd at 10PM EST on NBC. Don’t miss it.
