While I’m still deciding on whether or not to upgrade to a 16GB 3G iPhone, last night I upgraded my precious 4GB first gen. to software 2.1. The upgrade took a while; first upgrading to iTunes 8 and then the whole backup process. However, the upgrade went seamlessly and my iPhone looks to be in good shape. I’ve tested most of my applications and they all seem quite stable. I’ll continue to put it through it’s paces and report back should I have any problems.

I would get the 16GB…totally. I know someone who has it and they love it. But if you still have it, keep your old one and hack it to TMobile. That’s my advice.
